- WHAT WE DO -
PRODUCTION IN HYDROPONICS
Hydroponics is an innovative alternative method of growing plants that works by dissolving minerals in water, instead of using soil as in traditional agriculture.
The Foundation has provided support to develop a 3,000m2 demonstration production station in the town of Abasto, achieving varieties of lettuce, cilantro, chives, tomatoes, peppers, kale, spinach, chard, green onions, strawberries, mustard, watercress and cucumbers, allowing producers of the largest horticultural chain in the country to access this knowledge at no cost.
SUPPORT FOR THE CASTELLI COMMUNITY
In 2021, the Foundation donated the comprehensive equipment that allowed the Castelli hospital to incorporate the neonatology service, the only one in the La Plata – Mar del Plata corridor.
Since 2012, it has enabled patients with few resources to access highly complex diagnostic imaging studies in the city of La Plata, maintaining an assistance agreement with CIMED.
Likewise, for many years it has supported the activity of the Casita del Niño with monthly donations, among other charitable assistance activities.
Within the ranch we have a sector for raising chickens and a vegetable garden, for own consumption and also as a demonstration tool to transmit the sustainable management of vegetables, associated with chicken farming, under circular economy guidelines.
Complying with the traditions of the Foundation since its inception, plans are being made to hold benefit events linked to culture, especially open-air concerts, the proceeds of which may be used for scholarships and specific cultural development programs.
Landscape botany sessions are held, bearing in mind that La Raquel's park is a model for landscape practices in rural areas, materialized with programmed and naturalized plantations, originating from the projective resolution of Frederic Forkel in 1895.
